Amazing Arbonne products I wanted to share with you

As you all know I am a Independant consultant with Arbonne International and I love all of their products and my home is completely 100 %
Arbonnized!
Of course it is right.
Anyways I recently had some amazing experiences which includes myself as well as some of my clients and I just thought I would share…….

First of all our new Re9 Advanced line is over the top.
My 2 favorites that I could not live without are the Intensive Renewal Serum and the Corrective Eye Creme.
I have noticed a huge difference in my skin and under my eyes just since March when we launched the new RE9 Advanced.

I also get hundreds of compliments when I go out and have my Natural Radiance Mineral Powder on along with my Bronzer.
Our mineral powder has a SPF 15 and the combination of both products on your face is a total WOW!!! factor…. Unbelieveable!

Also I have been a hairdresser for 18 years and when I first started out I started getting work related dermatitis..
where my fingers would itch like crazy and the doctor gave me hydro -cortisone which helped with itch but would then thin my skin and you can imagine the hell it was for me …
one doctor even told me to quit my job…..HA
Anyways years later…
it did go away for whatever reason and all these years have not had to deal with it except for a few weeks ago when all of a sudden it was back and I paniked.
So I went downstairs to my Arbonne Wall of Fame and pondered about what I could use
So I grabbed our SeaSource Detox Spa Detoxifying Rescue Wash and washed my hands with it for about 5 minutes then I put the FC5 Skin Conditioning Oil on all my cuticle areas of my finger tips and rub it all in and let it stand for 10 minutes and surprisingly the itch stopped immediately.
Then I grabbed the Arbonne Intelligence Rejuvenating Cream and to my amazement it has not come back yet …
with one treatment.
So yes again Arbonne has knocked my socks off!!!
I have also used the Detoxifying Rescue wash on my clients for severely dry scalp almost like cradel cap and it has vanished it each time..
I also use the same wash for green Chlorine pool hair.
Arbonne has proven itself to me time and time again.
Also our Seasource Sea Mud Face and Body Mask is great for insect stings and poison ivy….you put it on affected area and it helps remove the toxins.
Our skin conditioning oil is a miracle in a bottle it has helped many with psoriasis , exzema, burns, stretch marks and scars and list goes on and on.

I will tell you this much I could go on and on for days about how awesome Arbonne is for myself and all the lucky peoplewho I have gotton this stuff on their faces and or bodies and between my own positive experiences as well as theirs, I cant believe how truly amazing they are and the true results it gives.
I am very lucky to have had Arbonne find me and anyone else out there who has had the pleasure of finding Arbonne, and I can only hope to continue to touch peoples lives the way I was touched.

Arbonne can and will continue to change peoples lives every single day and I hope one day it is you.

Thanks for reading and take care
Always a pleasure in sharing great information.

How To Explode Your Mary Kay, Arbonne, Party Plan Business Overnight!

While the Party Plan Network Marketing business model is an excellent idea, it’s becoming harder and harder to host parties. I believe that one of the biggest reasons for this, is due to the current state of the economy, and the ever increasing search for steady income. Many women have joined forces with the direct marketing industry, in hopes to make a pay cheque, but not being fully aware that a “Mary Kay Business” Is just that…a business, and must be treated as one. Most small business will not see a profit within the first 3 years. They begin to build their client base through word of mouth that is usually started by close friends and relatives, and as time goes by you begin to see new business from those referrals.

What makes an Arbonne, or Mary Kay business different?

Well for one, our expectation. As stated earlier, many women get involved to start receiving a pay cheque, and put undue pressure upon themselves, and their friends and family. People will tend to go to these “Hosted Parties” in support of their friend, and are really not going because of genuine interest in buying the product.

This is why it is important to realize that many people will not continue to buy the product, and residual income which really drives this business, will in most cases not exist.

So what does one do, to help grow their Mary Kay..Arbonne business?

Here are some things that are a must to do, if you are seriously trying to build a long term party plan business:

  • Take a step back, look at your company and products that you are promoting, and ask yourself this question. “What makes them unique? and would I continue to buy them if I weren’t selling them?”   If the answer is no, then I suggest you stop!
  • Your passion will dictate how committed and far you are willing to go in this company. Here is another question to ask yourself.  “If the company closed the doors tomorrow, and you couldn’t get anymore product from them period…How would that make you feel? ….Would you panic a bit?….This is clearly a sign of how you feel about the products from a consumer stand point. If you’re panicking at the thought…That’s a GOOD Sign!
  • Stop bugging your friends to host a party! If you have to beg, and make them feel sorry for you, then isn’t that enough of a signal that they’re NOT interested? While the Party Plan model is a great way to market, many consultants, do not follow the golden rule.. “Don’t Bug Your Friends!”…That’s a good way to loose your friendship.
  • Stop selling! This is another golden rule which will dramatically increase your chances of success, and is one of the hardest rules to follow, but is a must if you want to succeed. Your Mary Kay or Arbonne business, will grow much quicker,if you stop selling your product. If they practically don’t stand alone and sell themselves, why would you want to be in the business. Your job, is to simply share information, on why you and many other women simply love the product. Even though you may feel strongly about the product line, you will run into many that will flat out not see a need. This is where many Reps fail and take it personally, and which is why if you want to succeed you have to be different. Realize, that many people will have different opinions, and so when someone doesn’t see things the way you do, Don’t start defending your product line…That’s called “Selling”.. Instead this is a key opportunity to further build your relationship with that person, and I would highly suggest you do so! ……How do you do that? …..Simple…Say something like  “You know Mary, that’s what I like about you…You always speak from your heart!…So how are the kids anyway?”…. You see, with every negative, there is always an “Opportunity” to change someones life. I know what your thinking… How can you change a life with a simple response like that? It’s very simple actually, whenever you do something that is unexpected or a normal reaction, people wonder, respect, and start to question themselves, and when they do that, they are forced to sometimes CHANGE their way of thinking!
  • Stop Promoting Your Company!….What???  I  know it’s hard to believe, but that’s NOT  the quickest way to build a business. What you want to do is reinforce “YOU!” ….That’s right!   You should be building yourself as the BRAND, and focusing all your attention to the brand called “YOU!”  Most purchases, are made through people that you know and trust, that is why the Mary Kay, Arbonne, and other party plans work so well. They use the power of your social network to promote their product line. But you have to remember that when you exhaust your “100 name list” you’re faced with a delimma…Who do I ask now? And this is why Personal branding  and a solid recruiting plan is essential. Start doing this, and you will see greater success with less effort.

The above list, is just a brief guideline, and a starting point on how you can build your Mary Kay..Arbonne business quicker. There are many more elements to consider, but just remember that building a business requires help. If you’re not able to duplicate your efforts by finding like minded individuals to join you, and have those people share the same dreams and focus, so that both can help build their businesses together, then your chances are slim to none.

I personally have asked myself the above questions, made some key mistakes along the way, and re-focused my efforts. I truly believe, that the Internet, and Social Media 2.0, gives each and everyone of us, a HUGE unfair advantage, in the history of the world, to literally grow your network marketing business overnight.

If you would like to learn more tactics and tips on how to launch a real “Party Plan” business, and quit bothering your friends, and never make another cold call again, then you should definitely watch the video to the upper right, and fill out the form, to get the answers on Why, When and What Social Media 2.0 is all about.

What’s Ultra Premium Skincare?

Did you know that there are 3 categories of skincare and that Arbonne offers Prestige Swiss Skin care at a Premium Price.

We are the only skin care company in the Direct Selling industry in this Prestige category. We currently have no competition, and I don’t see any in the near future!
This really intrigued me, as I had no idea about different skincare categories.

So here is a quick breakdown of the three different categories:

  • The Economy Category- US Formulated-sold mostly in drug stores….Revlon-Maybelline- Dermalogica-MaryKay-Avon
  • The Premium Category- French Formulated-sold in Dept.stores and Salons…Chanel-Clinique-Estee Lauder-Lancome-La Mer
  • The Prestige Category-Swiss Formulated-used primarily by the wealthy and priveleged….La Prairie-ARBONNE-Cavier by Kerstin Florian-Cell Cosmet-Valmont-Swiss Line

Arbonne is way to under priced for the Quality of their products

Just a little tidbit….La Prarie skincare line widely used by millionaires sells for $2800.00 for  a 7  piece set, their night cream sells for $800.00 duty free….I nearly died when I heard that, because in my eyes then Arbonne is way to under priced for the Quality of their products…..especially when all the other product lines cannot compete with Arbonnes botanically based ingredients and their commitement to Pure Safe and Beneficial  standards.

With the lastest advancement in Arbonnes top selling product the Re9 anti aging set. This new product line called Re9 Advanced has set Arbonne over the edge as the Worlds Best Swiss skincare, and those of us currently using this phenomenal skincare line are considered the LUCKY ones.

This new product line is clinically proven to show results within 24 hours!

Here are some interesting facts based on a 8 week clinical study….

  • 83% of participants reported –increased skin firmness within 24 hours
  • 92% reported a –reduction in the appearance of fine lines within 1 week
  • 96% reported a — refinement in skin texture and smoothness within 1 week

Quite simply put..I have just tried the products myself  and after just 2 days, I am noticing and feeling a difference.

Social Networking: What’s A Tribe And How Can It Help Me Succeed?

Seth Godin’s presentation regarding the Social 2.0 movement, and the power we have to challenge problems that currently exist, by connecting people to one another, with a common goal.

It’s called “A Tribe” and they are springing up everywhere. I guess I would like to have a tribe of my own, and It would be about Empowering Women, helping to empower other women succeed..I have big plans, and I’d like to invite you to make a change, not only in your life, but the lives of many more women, looking for a hand up. :)

I hope you get something from this video, and enjoy it, just like I did.

    Seth Godin speaks:

So sometimes I get invited to give weird talks. I got invited to speak to the people who dress up in big stuffed animal costumes to perform at sporting events. Unfortunately I couldn’t go. But it got me thinking about the fact that these guys, at least most of them, know what it is that they do for a living. What they do is they dress up as stuffed animals and entertain people at sporting events.

Shortly after that I got invited to speak at the convention of the people who make balloon animals. And again I couldn’t go. But it’s a fascinating group. They make balloon animals. There is a big schism between the ones who make gospel animals and porn animals. (Laughter) But they do a lot of really cool stuff with balloons. Sometimes they get in trouble, but not often. And the other thing about these guys is, they also know what they do for a living. They make balloon animals.

But what do we do for a living? What exactly to the people watching this do every day? And I want to argue that what we do is we try to change everything. That we try to find a piece of the status quo, something that bothers us, something that needs to be improved, Something that is itching to be changed, and we change it. We try to make big, permanent, important change. But we don’t think about it that way. And we haven’t spent a lot of time talking about what that process is like. And I’ve been studying it for a couple years. And I want to share a couple stories with you today.

First, about a guy named Nathan Winograd. Nathan was the number two person at the San Francisco SPCA. And what you may not know about the history of the SPCA is it was founded to kill dogs and cats. Cities gave them a charter to get rid of the stray animals on the street and destroy them. In a typical year four million dogs and cats were killed. Most of them within 24 hours of being scooped off of the street. Nathan and his boss saw this. And they could not tolerate it. So they set out to make San Francisco a no-kill city. Create an entire city where every dog and cat, unless it was ill or dangerous, would be adopted, not killed. And everyone said it was impossible. Nathan and his boss went to the city council to get a change in the ordinance. And people from SPCAs and humane shelters around the country flew to San Francisco to testify against them. To say it would hurt the movement and it was inhumane. They persisted. And Nathan went directly to the community. He connected with people who cared about this. Nonprofessionals, people with passion. And within just a couple years, San Francisco became the first no-kill city. Running no deficit. Completely supported by the community. Nathan left and went to Tompkins County, New York. A place as different from San Francisco as you can be and still be in the United States. And he did it again. He went from being a glorified dog catcher to completely transforming the community. And then he went to North Carolina and did it again. And he went to Reno. And he did it again.

And when I think about what Nathan did, and when I think about what people here do, I think about ideas. And I think about the idea that creating an idea, spreading an idea has a lot behind it. I don’t know if you’ve ever been to a Jewish wedding. But what they do is they take a light bulb and they smash it. Now there is a bunch of reasons for that, and stories about it. But one reason is because it indicates a change, from before to after. It is a moment in time. And I want to argue that we are living through and are right at the key moment of a change in the way ideas are created and spread and implemented.

We started with the factory idea. That you could change the whole world if you had an efficient factory that could churn out change. We then went to the TV idea. That said if you had a big enough mouthpiece, if you could get on TV enough times, if you could buy enough ads, you could win. And now we’re in this new model of leadership. Where the way we make change is not by using money, or power to lever a system. But by leading.

So let me tell you about the three cycles. The first one is the factory cycle. Henry Ford comes up with a really cool idea. It enables him to hire men who used to get paid 50 cents a day and pay them five dollars a day. Because he’s got an efficient enough factory. Well with that sort of advantage you can churn out a lot of cars. You can make a lot of change. You can get roads built. You can change the fabric of an entire country. That the essence of what you’re doing is you need ever cheaper labor, and ever faster machines. And the problem we’ve run into is we’re running out of both. Ever cheaper labor and ever faster machines. (Laughter)

So we shift gears for a minute, and say, “I know. Television. Advertising. Push push. Take a good idea and push it on the world. I have a better mousetrap. And if I can just get enough money to tell enough people, I’ll sell enough.” And you can build an entire industry on that. If necessary you can put babies in your ads. If necessary you can use babies to sell other stuff. And if babies don’t work, you can use doctors. But be careful. Because you don’t want to get an unfortunate juxtaposition, where you’re talking about one thing instead of the other. (Laughter) This model requires you to act like the king. Like the person in the front of the room throwing things to the peons in the back. That you are in charge. And you’re going to tell people what to do next. The quick little diagram of it is you’re up here. And you are pushing it out to the world. This method, mass marketing, requires average ideas, because you’re going to the masses, and plenty of ads. What we’ve done as spammers is tried to hypnotize everyone into buying our idea. Hypnotize everyone into donating to our cause. Hypnotize everyone into voting for our candidate. And unfortunately it doesn’t work so well anymore either. (Laughter)

But there is good news around the corner, really good news. I call it the idea of tribes. What tribes are, is a very simple concept that goes back 50 thousand years. It’s about leading and connecting people and ideas. And it’s something that people have wanted forever. Lots of people are used to having a spiritual tribe, or a church tribe, having a work tribe, having a community tribe. But now, thanks to the internet, thanks to the explosion of mass media, thanks to a lot of other things that are bubbling through our society around the world, tribes are everywhere.

The internet was supposed to homogenize everyone by connecting us all. Instead what it’s allowed is silos of interest. So you’ve got the red-hat ladies over here. You’ve got the red-hat triathletes over there. You’ve got the organized armies over here. You’ve got the disorganized rebels over here. You’ve got people in white hats making food. And people in white hats sailing boats. The point is that you can find Ukrainian folk dancers. And connect with them. Because you want to be connected. That people on the fringes can find each other, connect and go somewhere. Every town that has a volunteer fire department understands this way of thinking. (Laughter)

Now it turns out this is a legitimate non-photoshopped photo. People I know who are firemen told me that this is not uncommon. And that what firemen do to train sometimes is they take a house that is going to be torn down, and they burn it down instead, and practice putting it out. But they always stop and take a picture. (Laughter)

You know the pirate tribe is a fascinating one. They’ve got their own flag. They’ve got the eyepatches. You can tell when you’re running into someone in a tribe. And it turns out that it’s tribes, not money, not factories, that can change our world, that can change politics, that can align large numbers of people. Not because you force them to do something against their will. But because they wanted to connect.

That what we do for a living now, all of us, I think, is find something worth changing, and then assemble tribes that assemble tribes that spread the idea and spread the idea. And it becomes something far bigger than ourselves. It becomes a movement. So when Al Gore set out to change the world again, he didn’t do it by himself. And he didn’t do it by buying a lot of ads. He did it by creating a movement. Thousands of people around the country who could give his presentation for him. Because he can’t be in 100 or 200 or 500 cities in each night.

You don’t need everyone. What Kevin Kelley has taught us is you just need, I don’t know, a thousand true fans. A thousand people who care enough that they will get you the next round and the next round and the next round. And that means that the idea you create, the product you create, the movement you create isn’t for everyone. It’s not a mass thing. That’s not what this is about. What it’s about instead is finding the true believers. It’s easy to look at what I’ve said so far, and say, “Wait a minute, I don’t have what it takes to be that kind of leader.

So here are two leaders. They don’t have a lot in common. They’re about the same age. But that’s about it. What they did though, is each in their own way, created a different way of navigating your way through technology. So some people will go out and get people to be on one team. And some people will get people to be on the other team.

It also informs the decisions you make when you make products or services. You know, this is one of my favorite devices. But what a shame that it’s not organized to help authors create movements. What would happen if when you’re using your Kindle you could see the comments and quotes and notes from all the other people reading the same book as you in that moment. Or from your book group. Or from your friends, or from the circle you want. What would happen if authors, or people with ideas could use version two, which comes out on Monday. And use it to organize people who want to talk about something. Now there is a million things I could share with you about the mechanics here. But let me just try a couple.

The Beatles did not invent teenagers. They merely decided to lead them. That most movements, most leadership that we’re doing is about finding a group that’s disconnected but already has a yearning. Not persuading people to want something they don’t have yet.

When Diane Hatz worked on The Meatrix, her video that spread all across the internet about the way farm animals are treated, she didn’t invent the idea of being a vegan. She didn’t invent the idea of caring about this issue. But she helped organize people, and helped turn it into a movement.

Hugo Chavez did not invent the disaffected middle and lower class of Venezuela. He merely led them.

Bob Marley did not invent Rastafarians. He just stepped up and said, “Follow me.”

Derek Sivers invented CD Baby. Which allowed independent musicians to have a place to sell their music without selling out to the man. To have place to take the mission they already wanted to go to, and connect with each other.

What all these people have in common is that they are heretics. That heretics look at the status quo and say, This will not stand. I can’t abide this status quo. I am willing to stand up and be counted and move things forward. I see what the status quo is. I don’t like it. That instead of looking at all the little rules and following each one of them, that instead of being what I call a sheepwalker, somebody who’s half asleep, following instructions, keeping their head down, fitting in, every once in a while someone stands up and says, “Not me.” Someone stands up and says, “This one is important. We need to organize around it.” And not everyone will. But you don’t need everyone. You just need a few people (Laughter) who will look at the rules, realize they make no sense, and realize how much they want to be connected.

So Tony Shea does not run a shoe store. Zappos isn’t a shoe store. Zappos is the one, the only, the best there ever was, place for people who are into shoes to find each other, to talk about their passion, to connect with people who care more about customer service, than making a nickle tomorrow. It can be something as prosaic as shoes. And something as complicated as overthrowing a government. It’s exactly the same behavior though.

What it requires, as Geraldine Carter has discovered, is to be able to say, “I can’t do this by myself. But if I can get other people to join my Climb and Ride, then together we can get something that we all want. We’re just waiting for someone to lead us.

Michelle Kaufman has pioneered new ways of thinking about environmental architecture. She doesn’t do it by quietly building one house at a time. She does it by telling a story to people who want to hear it. By connecting a tribe of people who are desperate to be connected to each other. By leading a movement. By making change. And around and around and around it goes.

So three questions I’d offer you. The first one is, who exactly are you upsetting? Because if you’re not upsetting anyone, you’re not changing the status quo. The second question is, who are you connecting? Because for a lot of people, that’s what they’re in it for. The connections that are being made, one to the other. And the third one is, who are you leading? Because focusing on that part of it, not the mechanics of what you’re building, but the who, and the leading part is where change comes.

So Blake, at Tom’s Shoes, had a very simple idea. “What would happen if every time someone bought a pair of these shoes I gave exactly the same pair to someone who doesn’t even own a pair of shoes?” This is not the story of how you get shelf space at Neiman Marcus. It’s a story of a product that tells a story. And as you walk around with this remarkable pair of shoes and someone says, “What are those?” You get to tell the story on Blake’s behalf, on behalf of the people who got the shoes. And suddenly it’s not one pair of shoes or 100 pairs of shoes. It’s tens of thousands of pairs of shoes.

My friend Red Maxwell has spent the last 10 years fighting against juvenile diabetes. Not fighting the organization that’s fighting it, fighting with them, leading them, connecting them, challenging the status quo because it’s important to him. And the people he surrounds himself with need the connection. They need the leadership. It makes a difference.

You don’t need permission from people to lead them. But in case you do, here it is. They’re waiting, we’re waiting for you to show us where to go next. So here is what leaders have in common. The first thing is, they challenge the status quo. They challenge what’s currently there. The second thing is, they build a culture. A secret language, a seven second handshake. A way of knowing that you’re in or out. They have curiosity. Curiosity about people in the tribe. Curiosity about outsiders. They’re asking questions. They connect people to one another. Do you know what people want more than anything? They want to be missed. They want to be missed the day they don’t show up. They want to be missed when they’re gone. And tribe leaders can do that. It’s fascinating because all tribe leaders have charisma. But you don’t need charisma to become a leader. Being a leader gives you charisma. If you look and study the leaders who have succeeded, that’s where charisma comes from, from the leading. Finally, they commit. They commit to the cause. They commit to the tribe. They commit to the people who are there.

So I’d like you to do something for me. And I hope you’ll think about it before you reject it out of hand. What I want you to do only takes 24 hours, is create a movement. Something that matters. Start. Do it. We need it. Thank you very much. I appreciate it.

    The End..

Still Looking For A Job?…Maybe A Career Change Is In Order!

Too many of us fall short of our dreams and aspirations, simply because we’re scared to write our own pay cheque. That cozy and familiar ground called the comfort zone, is actually a trap! It prevents us from dreaming big, and actively pursuing our goals and dreams. We settle for what we have, and stop seeking what we can have, and that can leave us feeling empty, and unfulfilled.

So what can we do to change that?

Start dreaming again…Decide to change your life…Shoot for the stars, and make your dreams come true.

When I perform my job well, I get noticed..and uplifted by all the wonderful support from my team.

I Simply Love My Job!

Mary Kay: “A Touch Of Pink Cosmetics” In The News..

Its called the “Lipstick Index” A term coined by cosmetic giant Estée Lauder,
who noted a rise in makeup sales during economic down times.

Well the nearly 2 million women, who independently sell Mary Kay products want in on that action.

Well why not, with flexible hours no fear of loosing a job to the recession and a chance to earn some

big money selling product that women love, the upsides are much more than skin deep, As Ryan Owen now reports..

Its Friday night in Dallas and thousands of women all dressed up, all made up, are decending on the convention center.
Are they here for:

a. A motivational speech?
b. A cheerleaders reunion?
c. A mega church service?
d. A beauty pageant?
e. All of the above?

The correct answer is a bit of all of the above, and oh so much more.

Welcome to a Mary Kay cosmetics career conference, where the mantra, is sell…sell..sell

Jan Thetford: You know, I currently earn a six figure income,I drive a $85,000 car, I have a house
that’s almost paid for, these are my dreams…

That’s Jan Thetford, she’s the leader of the biggest selling Mary Kay team in Texas,
and is allowed to wear that coral suit, because because she’s reached one of the highest levels of
sales directors in the country.

Jan Thedford: Be a part of the cool crowd…and get to work!

Her message…Just because there’s a recession, doesn’t mean Mary Kay sales women have to suffer.

Jan Thedford: Have you heard anybody say ” I’m going to cut back on my mascara…have you heard
anybody say I’m going to moisturizer every other day, just to kind of ration it. NOOO!!

Some call it the lipstick indicator, women don’t …don’t ..cut back on cosmetics, even when they are
strapped for cash.

Mary Kay Representative: ” I make like ,$8000 commission take, in a month…

Ryan Owens: A Month..$8000 a month??… Yes

Mary Kay Representative :”Our job is flexible,I’m my own boss…and I wouldn’t take a real job for nothing…

Mary Kay Representative: ” Personally I was able to double, and some years triple what I was making in
the medical field.”

And they wear their sales success, not on their sleaves, but on their shoulders.

Among the sea of skirts and suits, is Courtney Armstrong.Courtney began selling Mary Kay, 8 years ago.

Courtney Armstrong : And I had a really busy schedule with school and work, and I just decided at first my
initial goal was to just make $50-$100 a week…For me personally…I made last year, three times what I made, working a full-time job.”

Ryan Owens: Now she’s successful enough, to have earned a pink Cadillac…A pink Cadillac SUV
to be precise, because her team of a hundred and thirsty sales women, turned over more than $96,000
worth of wholesale products, in just six months.

Courtney Armstrong: “I love my Cadillac!…Yes, my children love my Cadillac..”

Ryan Owens: What’s the most fun part of the job for you?

Courtney: The most fun..I love helping women…feel good about themselves.

Ryan Owens: Courtney’s career is no cake walk.

Courtney: You cannot expect to go paint on a dirty canvas, and get a beautiful piece of artwork,
so you’ve got to clean your skin first and foremost….

She leads skin care classes…

Courtney: What you’re going to want to do, is going to want to go in like circular swooping…
just like kind of all around your face, until you get the coverage you want.

Ryan Owens: After a couple of hours with 3 clients….A couple of hundred dollars in sales.

Courtney: If there are products you want to take home with you today, I should have most of them
in my car, if not I can get them to you…

Ryan Owens: And then there are personal deliveries….other customers drop in on Courtney’s
home office/ store room. And of course, constant phone calls to check on sales, as well as check
on her sales consultants.

Courtney Armstrong : ” So what you need to do, is possibly get her on the oil free, hydrating gel…
The one in the purple jar..

Ryan Owens: To move up at Mary Kay, to earn that Pink Cadillac, you have to bring more sales people
into the organization, and make sure they sell.

Courtney: You know you got your starter kit in the mail, go ahead and pass out books to your friends…

Ryan Owens: Courtney, works 35-40 hours a week, whats more, shes a dedicated wife and mother of three children,
all under the age of six.

Courtney: I think that’s part of the reason why I’ve been successful, is that my life is very balanced.
When I work…I work, and when I play, I play….. When I’m with my family, and playing Pirates..
or you know..building tents in the living room…or reading stories with my kids, that my focus is
on them, and not on my cell phone.

Ryan Owens: And she sais, she doesn’t have to worry about loosing her job, even during a recession.

Courtney: Women will always buy their skin care, and their lipstick, and we will find a way to
feel good, and… my sales have been great!

Ryan Owens: It’s not only commissions from her sales,Courtney has also received countless gifts from
Mary Kay, most of them….Pink!

Courtney: It’s nice to be recognized by a company that sais, we’re going to give you a little extra,
we’re going to give you something special, as a thank you for working hard….

Ryan Owens: And the nearly 2 million independent sales consultants..are working hard. In 2008, Mary Kay
reported wholesale sales of 2.6 billion dollars…More than enough to afford commercials during
the Super Bowl, and the Academy Awards.

Ryan Owens: How much did these individual Mary Kay products cost?

Rhonda Shasteen: Well they range anywhere from the mid teens, up to our Time-wise micro-dermabrasion, which is
$55.00 for 2 complete products.

Ryan Owens: No $300 face creams here, Rhonda Shasteen is the Senior Vice President for marketing at Mary Kay.

Ryan Owens: How much money can they make?

Rhonda Shasteen: Well you know we have women who like Courtney, who started the business to
earn $50/week,and we probably today, have a lot of women in the business who are earning $50 a week.
And then there 2 of the National Sales Directors among these 500 hundred women, who have in recent
years have earned more than 1 million dollars in commissions in a single year…so the range is
broad, there’s everything you can imagine in between.

Ryan Owens: So…Some of the women on these walls are millionaires?

Rhonda Shasteen: Many of the women on these walls are millionaires!

Ryan Owens: They are sales Directors from across the world, featured at Mary Kay Corporate headquarters
in Dallas.Along with a make up museum, where the star attraction is Mary Kay herself. She died in
2001,but she seems to live on here.

Ryan Owens: Explain to me why you have a museum, and why there are portraits of Mary Kay every place I look?

Rhonda Shasteen: It’s a very important part of who we are, to look at where we’ve been, and to say
“My haven’t we gotten better over time, look where we are today, look at all we’ve achieved.”

Ryan Owens: Speaking of achievement, the museum features an exhibition of that ultimate success symbol,
The pink Cadillac.

Rhonda Shasteen: In 1969, Mary Kay finally believed that she had achieved success as a business
woman, and she wanted to buy herself a new car,So she went to the local Cadillac dealer, she pulled
out her compact out of her purse, which of course was Mary Kay pink, and she said to the salesman..
” I want you to paint that car…this colour, and it immediately became known as the trophy on
wheels, and a symbol of success, and today we have more than 1500 on the road.

Ryan Owens: So perhaps it’s only right that back at that career conference, the Friday night ends with a
celebration for all of the women including Courtney Armstrong, who have earned the pinkest, of
Corporate perks.
