Skype…Ever heard about it?

Well let me tell you, I LOVE SKYPE!!!!!

It is a must for anyone, and I mean anyone that wants to communicate with someone in another state, region, and Country, like they were your new next door neighbour.

You know times are changing friends, when you’re giving your father-in-law, who has just turned 71 years old, a new computer.

Why?….Because they hear the buzz, about all the awesome things you can do with a computer, when you get past the fact that they are EVIL… And let me tell you, my father in laws generation has some validity to that statement, because I truly believe my computer has a mind of it’s own, and I too have considered it Evil at times. As a matter of fact, it gets more viruses, then our whole family combined! They tell me it’s because I’m clicking on some bad links, but let me tell you, those links can be so darn enticing!!!

Anyway, it really is a sign when the older generation sees the value of the online marketplace, and especially the ability that one can have to communicate with friends in places that before seemed so distant, but now, we are all brought so close together.

One particular application that is really breaking down all the barriers, is Skype.

when I first discovered Skype, it sounded like an interesting concept, but it was truly put to use when Dino and myself, went away to the 2010 NTC Arbonne convention in Las Vegas alone. Anyone that knows us, knows that in the 12 years of being together, we have never traveled without our children, and this would be the very first time.

So before we left on our trip, Dino made sure to download the program to the kids computer, and showed them how they could call us if there was ever a problem. I’m not sure that was the brightest thing to say, because  I believe that during the week we were in Vegas, they had 25 problems!.. Maybe I’m exaggerating, but you get the picture.

Now speaking about picture, that is the greatest part about Skype!

We got to see them via webcam video! …It was Soooo cool, and I really felt the closenest to them, even though we were a million miles apart, words can not express, the comfort “Skype” gave me.

Now getting back to my father in law, you can understand our excitement, to download the Skype program on his computer, and help them make the first call to their distant friends back home. Now their friends back home didn’t have Skype, but through the powers of email, we asked them to also download it.

It was literally 15 minutes later, as we were explaining how to use Skype, when my father in law got a Skype call…

You should have seen their faces light up, when not only could they hear their distant friends voices through this strange box like, computer the family had just bought them,but they could see their faces, and enjoy a once impossible face to face conversation, and I knew at that moment, that would change their lives forever!

So my friends, if you have never experienced the Skype advantage, I want you to take a sneak peak!

This application is tremendously valuable for everyone of us as human beings, but also I feel a must, for anyone that has any kind of business period!
